No, I only wanted to inform that someone is working on this issue for D7, maybe the information could be useful to someone who would have wrote on this thread :-)

Although I still have my own module to prep for D7 (big plan this weekend!) I'd be willing to take this over and maintain. I use it on almost every drupal project I deploy so...

As i've got no time to check out Drupal 7 mail handling just yet i'm open to offers for co-maintaining the module for 7.x

Yes I'd be willing to port to D7. Just spent the day working on moving my own module to D7 so I'm up on the process now :)

I've just been looking into this and the issue appears to be fixed in D7 core anyway. See DefaultMailSystem::mail() in modules/system/system.mail.inc
