I made a taxonomy compulsory for a certain content type. I then made a few hundred nodes of said content type, tagging every node with the same term. Later on I decided that I did not want that taxonomy associated with the content type, so I removed it. However, if I go to the taxonomy/term page I still see all the nodes listed. If I edit a node I no longer see the taxonomy select box, as expected. When I save that node, it disappears from the list of nodes under that taxonomy term. Thats great, but I can't edit - save hundreds of nodes.
Is there any fast way to refresh every node so that the since disassociated taxonomy no longer brings up the nodes that were formally tagged?
Or better yet, is there a work around that would allow me to simply dele the now redundant term all together without deleting the nodes. Note, there are no other nodes using this term, only the ones that I incorrectly tagged and now want to un-tag.
