I too would love to know how to connect it to a vocabulary instead of the separate terms The module looks and works nicely. Is this possible?

Sort of. You can set a term to have an image and then set all child terms to use it. But, no, you cannot set an image for a vocabulary.

I would be willing to pay if someone could make this happen.
