custom search / content drilldown / taxonomy filter etc

Hello,

Taxonomy is truly amazing. But i am having touble doing this:

Imagine an e-commerce site. User selects "horror films" from menu and is presented with the horror films entered in the catalogue. How can the user, preferably with a drop down box, now filter that selection by selecting "director" from the drop down list?

I've tried a few modules which do this, but they are either not ready for drupal 6, or have not been made to do something as simple as a simple filter.

How can i go about implementing this functionality?

thanks in anticpation :)

I'm not sure how this will

I'm not sure how this will apply to your need, but you can create Views (using the Views module) with exposed filters that users can manipulate.

How about a little spin on

How about a little spin on this. I think the directory module does what you need by the way, but not sure.

When a user adds content the taxonomy is picked by drill down. Its amazing I cant find anything like this. For instance if I have 100 taxonomy terms I want to be able to use for adding some content it is a pain for the user to search through them but if its done by drill down (seems the standard these days) it would be easy.

Anyone have anything for this.
