Wysiwyg question, please help!!!

codeman1234 - July 29, 2009 - 14:05

I install Wysiwyg with all these components:

WYMeditor 0.5-rc1
YUI editor 2.7.0
openWYSIWYG 1.4.7
TinyMCE 3.2.5
jWYSIWYG 0.5
FCKeditor 2.6.4.1
Whizzywig 56
NicEdit 0.9
markItUp 1.1.5

But, the problem is when I chose an editor in Filter HTML, Full HTML and PHP Code, I can only chose Yui Editor. Why is that? I want to use TinyMCE? How can I use it?

Regards + Cheers!!!

Well first, you shouldn't be

Well first, you shouldn't be using ALL of them. They're eiditors on their own. Choose one and go with it. For me, FCK was the best choice... TinyMCE a close second. Uninstall all of them except for the one you wanna use... or if undecided, maybe keep FCK and Tiny... try 'em, then decide which one.

I guess there's no "real" harm in keeping them all, but seems to me like it's just "cluttering up" your operation. And in my opinion, YUI is completely worthless... ditch it first!

Let us know if this help... take care!

I just did what you said and

I just did what you said and in /www/sites/all/libraries I just left TinyMCE and FCKEditor and now when I go to Home » Administrate » Site Configuration » Wysiwyg

I get that there is no Editor and I cannot do nothing about it, what I am doing wrong?

You need to go to the websites of both TinyMCE and FCKEditor to download the editors to install else the modules will not work

I did that already

I got FCKeditor and TinyMCE on my modules list and activated and when I go to Administer >> Site Configuration >> wysiwyg >> Instructions Installation >> I got YUI Editor + FCKEditor + TinyMCE with a green check mark. But I got by default YUI Editor and doesnt let me change it.

I repeat what I am doing wrong?

Check your permissions.

Check your permissions. Admin/user/permissions

Make sure admin has permission checked next to the editors. Scroll down to FCK, then TinyMCE and check 'em both. For the time-being, uncheck YUI in the modules section... so that it's not enabled. Once the permissions are set and only FCK and Tiny are enabled, you should be able to choose the default editor from within. Go to admin, then under Site Config, find both FCK and Tiny, check the settings for everything there. This is one reason I always recommend using only one editor... things sometimes just get mixed-up. Probably your best bet is to uninstall/remove all but one... then try 'em one by one and see which you like better: That's exactly what I did, and settled with FCK. But start by disabling YUI... maybe even removing.

Check those and if it doesn't work, we'll go another route.
