When I browse for files, select one and click Submit, the changes aren't saved. Shows no link to the file when I view the disknode and the file is not in the list when I edit it. Please advise.

Is the selection added to the files box?
What are you disknode settings?

I have the same problem. Yes, it shows normally in the file box , but disappears when clicking submit.

settings are pretty basic - base dir: , max files 1, sort on filename, ascending.

btw, (Im new here; delete if this is too inapropriate place to ask) - how do I upload local files? Have done that by setting them as an attachment, but that duplicates them - one copy in files one in /temp?

Yes, you should open a support forum topic next time, keep issues separated. The file in temp/ will disappear at next cron run as it's an orphan, it's used for previewing uploads, when the user clicks Submit the file is copied from temp/, or that's how I understand it works.

elmuerte: Yes, the files are added. As for my settings:
Base dir: downloads/ (exists, has files and subdirs in it and I can browse it fine using disknode)
max files per node: -1
sort on: filename
sort: ascending

I selected a file in a subdir to downloads/, maybe that's the cause. All files in the folder are CHMODded -R 755 tho I believe 644 would also do.

Thanks for looking into it.

i specified no subdir; its simply files. and my permissions are actually 777 :)

I think everything is fine if one fills the files table row manually with nid fid size and type....

Hope you can discover the problem with some of this info, and am gratefull for the attempt..

File permissions shouldn't matter.
What other modules are you using? Maybe there's an issue with an other module.

Ive installed quite a lot of modules, but if only enabled ones matter, it didnt function even when only wiki and weblink modules, outside some of the default ones, were enabled.

right now, it has wiki, weblink, view ; upload, tracker, taxonomy, story, statistics, search, queue, profile, page, node, menu, locale, help, disknode, contact, comment, book, blogapi, article, archive, aggregator , enabled and manifests the bug.

I've a whole lot of modules installed, I'm also using your excellent FileRequest module (with the access settings problem), could this be related to that?

Modules installed and enabled:
address, adsense, aggregator, amazon, archive, attachment, auction, autotimezone, badbehavior, block, blog, blogapi, book, captcha, cart, comment, contact, disknode, donate, emailpage, feedback, file, filemanager, filerequest, filestore2, filter, flexiblock, form_mail, fscache, generic, googleanalytics, gsitemap, guestbook, help, image, img_assist, legacy, legal, locale, menu, node, nodelist, page, parcel, path, payment, paypal, phpbb, ping, poll, privatemsg, product, profile, queue, search, service, sidecontent, spam, spam_surbl, statistics, store, story, submanage, superteaser, system, tax, taxonomy, taxonomy_context, taxonomy_multi_edit, throttle, tracker, upload, upload_image, user, views, watchdog,

Ok, I think I've got it. I think the upload.module causes these issues.

Ok, it should be fixed now.
An updated package will be available for download within 24 hours.

Great! Thanks a mill!

On a sidenote, did you sort that FileRequest access denied issue I reported? Just curious.

Thanks again for taking your time.

That should have been fixed

Cool, last time I checked the 4.6.0 download had not been updated or should I grab it from CVS?

elmuerte’s picture

the drupal.org site is broken, the dates are never updated even if the packages are

Thank you! That sorted it! Works like a charm! I might move the download link to the node body and replace it with an image button, it's more visible that way.
