In rootcandy_fixed i disabled the dashboard, yet the menu item and icon remain in toolbar across the top. clicking it displays my empty dashboard page.

sign commentedthe dashboard here is, extra regions on /admin page.
if you need to remove that icon, create a custom menu?
or do you think it will be a good idea not to display dashboard link+icon?

danny_joris commentedSorry for activating this. I just encountered the same issue.
If I use 'disable dashboard' the only result of this would be that the messages- and help box position won't apply. I don't get the purpose of this.
If I use 'Disable content on a dashboard' that removes all the content on the dashboard page indeed. But that would make the whole page redundant.
For me personally, I don't need the dashboard at all, because it gives an overview of all options, but at the same time it repeats what is in the other menu's. I like to keep it simple.
I'd suggest that the 'disable dashboard' option actually disables the entire dashboard plus it's icon the menu. So actually doing what the option promises in the first place: disabling the dashboard. :)
Cheers,
Danny
--EDIT: oh, now I see: I didn't see that there were 2 dashboard block regions there to tweak. Might be useful. Would be nice to still have that option to remove the entire dashboard section, though.

sign commentedNot sure really about disabling the whole dashboard
What I am going to do is, rename the option from Disable dashboard, to disable dashboard regions and will allow admins (user 1) to have their own menu too #535304: Why not let user 1 have a menu?
