Hey,
We are starting a doc for guidelines on text in Drupal core. I would love to get some reviews on http://drupal.org/node/501452 and get more attention on this topic.

arianek commentedsubscribe (i think it'd be great to have this reviewed sooner than later - and i fully realize it's already somewhat late in the game, will see if i can get some support on it)
arianek commentedthe first section on form elements is a little confusing, particularly the instructions re: when to use checkboxes vs. radio buttons - i would correct it, but i'm not totally clear on the parameters for deciding when to use each.
as joachim noted in the comments on that page, we need to be careful not to duplicated content in the "Drupal UI guidelines" pages here: http://drupal.org/node/364002
Comment #3
arianek commentedlooks like those 2 pages aren't duplicating content anymore, but there is a fair amount in http://drupal.org/node/501452 that is already in the handbook style guide http://drupal.org/node/338208 - i'd really like to keep overlap to a minimum, as eventually we're hoping to consolidate a lot of this into a universal style guide for both drupal/contrib and online docs (at least for all the text/formatting type stuff).

Bojhan commentedWait, what? Core interface guidelines are different from documentation guidelines? Its in a completely different domain, yes they are both drupal text - but to me thats where most of the similarity stops.
arianek commentedI don't mean they are the same - just that many things can be central to all of Drupal (so they're consistent and so they don't need to be documented many times in different pages). Things like language style, capitalization, and most of what's in the "screen text" and "menus" sections are a lot more general.
It's just a general note, as we have a few different pages/guides covering very similar bits of info.
Bojhan commentedI understand, but I don't think we should merge the two pages.
arianek commentedI never said we should merge them. ;) I just said I want to try not to duplicate information on the various pages that should be universal to all of Drupal. Some things need to be consolidated, other things will be per purpose.
