I had some one build up my web site for me and they weren't making the changes i wanted so i have taken over myself but don't know how to webmaster verification code for google and bing into the drupal system i need step by step instructions
i have read through the webmaster guidlines but that doesn't help me on drupal
can you help me please my drupal version is 5x

How to install Webmaster Verification Code into drupal 5 and 6

1 go to google webmaster sign in your account and go to verify this site
2 COPY the html code it reads for example, (google11e5844324b7354e.html).DO NOT USE THIS ONE
3 go to your drupal site click on Home › Administer › Site configuration>Clean URLs then enable and save
4 go to CONTROL PANEL then PAGE for 5x or CREATE CONTENT then PAGE for 6x
5 paste the google Webmaster Verification Code into TITLE then BODY then URL PATH SETTING you may have to uncheck the Automatic alias box to allow you to do this and save.
6 go back to webmaster and verify your website
after you have finished download and install sitemap go back to google verify it
type in .www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml instead of just .www.yoursite.com/sitemap.
you will need backlinks to get your site seen on a google search use http://www.freetrafficsystem.com/a.php?p=12220 and get 120 links per article free version 540 links pro version.
also install alexa firefox add on and monitor your web traffic ranking thats free as well https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5362
