Is there a module that will let me write [node:45656] and turn it into a proper a href to the relavent node ?
Sort of like the attached_node module does, but without the thumbnail...

Not quite the same...
I've written a small module that will add a "node picker" link to editable textareas -- when you invoke it, it opens a pop-up window that lists all your nodes. You then pick the one you want, and it will insert an HTML anchor (or whatever else you want) containing that node ID.
It's not quite what you're looking for, but you might find it useful. Drop me a note if you're interested.

Hmm, thanks - nice idea.

I might just take attached_node and copy it, with a suitable change in the function that renders the link. Means learning more PHP than I wanted too though :-)
Your node picker module
Hi R.J.,
I'm looking for something similar to what/what you described. Could you point me in the right direction or let me know where I can download your module?
I wanted to make it so someone can link up something to another node without having to type in the URL.
Thanks again!
Matt
Ditto. I'd like to try out
Ditto. I'd like to try out the "module" you've written.
