I created an 'About' page and set the menu link title to 'About', the Parent Item to 'Primary Links' and left Weight at 0. In 'Site Building' > 'Blocks', I set 'Primary Links' to appear in the right column.
Primary Links appears in the right column with my 'About' Link, but an 'About' link now appears just below the header as well. When I set the Primary Links block to , it still appears in the header.
I've been working at this issue for a day and am stumped. I'm new to Drupal development and attribute most of the time spent on this to the steep learning curve ahead of me, but I finally felt I should turn to the community for some help with this one.
I'm working in a Zen sub-theme and spent most of my time troubleshooting this thinking it was something I did to the theme or some conflict from the parent theme I had to find and override. Late last night, it occurred to me that I should try and see if the issue persists in other themes, which it does in all themes. In Garland, for example, I get the 'About' link below a triangle towards the top of the screen whether I have the Primary Links block set to or .
I've tried deleting the 'About' page and creating a new one. Deleting the page removes the link, but creating a new page just results in the same issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?
