I've spent about 2 days now researching a CMS + Ecommerce solution that is pretty flexible in customization. Our current site is running under a custom created shopping cart system, and this gives me the ability to do pretty much what I want with it as far as customization. We are going to develop a new site and at the beginning I was going to use the same solution we have now, but the problem is that it lacks soooooo many useful features that many solutions have as standard now that I thought it would be wise to research if there's a solution out there that could give me the freedom that I have now, but with a more secure, robust, well supported background.
I've considered Drupal+Ecommerce(but I found reviews that don't speak well of it), Magento, and Drupal+Ubercart.
My main questions are:
1.-How much freedom do you have customizing your shopping cart with Ubercart? I heard the checkout is untouchable, true?
2.-Is this the best solution for a site that's going to handle over 20,000 products and have about 150,000 visitors daily?
3.-How easy is Ubercart to develop your own modules? for example I created a fraud detection module in our current site which I would like to have also on this new site.
If this implementation is successful, I would actually transfer the other site to this solution.

That was my first choice as where to look for some advise, but 3 days after my post, still no feedback. I read posts here that talked about Drupal+Ubercart vs Drupal+Ecommerce and I thought maybe I could get people that are familiar with it to respond.
As far as Drupal, would you say its a good back end solution for a large site?
