Now the module lets announcing any node content with tokens like title and url. I think there should be a form to just tweet solely not as a publicity to another node. I guess it won't be much work.

I think a page to see direct messages of the twitter account and reply to them should also be there.

On top of it if the user can see the saved searches of his/her twitter account and see the latest happening in the searches it would be great.

Hope these features are incorporated soon :).

a patch to tweet from drupal, this is my first patch and not tested as such :).

login and go to siteurl/twitter/tweet to post your tweet.

Installed the patch then tried to tweet as a user besides user/1 - and got this - An error occurred when posting to twitter: 401 Unauthorized

I don't think you really want to make this a callback either - maybe a block that displays the form so that site builders can place it wherever instead of just url.
