Attached is a screenshot of the URL Alias settings page. I've been using PathAuto for years but cant see why this is happening...

Why were the strange quote characters not removed? The News article node settings are news/[nid]/[title-raw]...

I'd really appreciate some help here!

Ah I think I might have found the issue - I'd not got "Reduce strings to letters and numbers from ASCII-96" enabled in the settings. Hopefully this will fix it...
