Hi,
I just created a forum topic. After I clicked the preview and the submit button, I realized that I mispelled a word in the title ("searh" instead od "search"). I know that the "preview" function is for that but it happens sometimes. Sorry...
So my question is "why users can't edit their own posts?"

This subject has been discussed very often, not only here on Drupal.org.

The main argument against editing posts is that users could completely change what they have written. Comments on the original text would no longer make sense.

Say, if you write something and see it again some years later, you probably think that what you have written isn't right anymore or your point of view on a certain topic has changed since. You could now alter your text so that the discussion is no longer comprehensible.

Maybe just for a short time or until a comment has been posted?

It does allow you to edit your post until someone else replies. Probably someone had already replied when you went back. Being a non native English speaker I do it all the time.

Comments allow you to edit until someone replies, the original post does not. I believe that in order to allow for the original forum post to be edited an additional permission woul dneed to be added and so far no one has submitted a patch against forum modules for it.

At this point it would have to wait until 4.7 is released and patches submitted for 4.8

I put a user as "admins" then I gave him all previllige and permissions to edit the posts at the fourm, but still it cannot edit this posts.

know this problem appears after adding the IMCE and FCKeditor.

the old posts before this two module have been added can be deleted.

please who can help me as soon as possible.
