Configuring discounts can be quite time consuming sometimes. I think it would be really useful if each discount had a checkbox with the state 'active'. This would allow only active discounts to be calculated.
I know I can make discounts expire and it's working nice (See #499008: Expiration date not working) but that's not the same in terms of usability.

I think it would be best if the table at admin/store/settings/uc_discounts would be a form with a checkbox at each row. Any ideas?

I totally agree. Published/Unpublished does not do the trick, and I even had trouble with them when trying to use expiration for this purpose, did not come up.
