Looking for some guidance on a potential custom Drupal development project

Hey everyone,

The company I work for has it's eye out for a new platform for our collaborative blogging site. We're currently on a different platform but would like to move to something that was made for our purpose and something we had more development and aesthetic control over. What we want is a custom platform made specifically for what we do that would be a part of the service we offer (i.e. a one-off platform for collaborative blogging).

Here are the must-have features:

- Ability to accept, parse, and publish incoming RSS feeds
- Ability to approve and deny posts coming from these feeds. The main feed from the site would be a feed of all approved posts
- Ability to create posts on the site that would feed into the approval queue like posts from outside feeds
- Easy to use social features like messaging, Twitter/Facebook integration, friending, etc.
- Fully customizable (X)HTML/CSS themes/templates that would give us granular control over the look and feel
- User management
- Lots of reporting options

We're looking for a company of group of individuals that have taken on similar projects and can show us the outcome. Alternatively, you could have a product that looks/sounds like this that you want to get off the ground. Either way, we would need to have ongoing support and a team that could make development changes.

We're aware this is a massive project and we have very realistic cost and timeline expectations. At this point, we've got something that works for now but we want to see what's possible on an open source PHP/MySQL platform.

Any information, estimates, personal experience, or proposals is welcome. If the right solution presents itself, we're ready to move.
