load multistep form stages through AJAX

Does anyone know of a way to load multistep form stages through AJAX ?
It would be great if; when pressing the NEXT button on a multistep form, the next stage is loaded with all its form elements with requiring a page refresh.
Any leads on how to achieve this would be great.
AJAX.module does not support this - the form I am actually using is a webform form.
