Please tell me a good thing to download to read css files. Notepad is a bit mad and I can't figure out where a line is I need to tweak.

PSPad (which might sound familiar to you, unless it was k'd out... ), is a simple html editor which allows you to open & edit most files u encounter with Drupal (except images), including html, php & yes css.
It is free, lightweight, ...
If the "line numbers" are not enabled, you can do so under "View" somewhere down.
