Referencing latest post issue

wisemas - August 6, 2009 - 01:33

Hi,

I have a site running Drupal 6. On this site I have 20 different content types (pages) and 20 views. Each view is setup to show only one page at a time, and each view (content type) may have up to 10 pages. On any page of my site, I have created a block with two buttons in it: First post and Latest Post.

The aim of the site is to release content at specific intervals.

The first post box is fine. It is hard coded to go to the first posting on the site.

What I am having problems with is the latest posting button. My client and I have put a large amount of work into putting content onto the site, for when we make it available. Most of this content is currently unpublished.

Is there anyway for me to code in a link to the last piece of published content? Currently when you click on the "Latest Post" button it goes to the last piece of content added to the site. This content is currently unpublished and we dont want it to display.

Further on down the track, when content is released, the page that the "Latest Post" button links to will change.

I welcome any suggestions, as this problem has me confused.

Thanks in advance,

Wisemas
