Allow relative links with "Whitelist all links except the listed hosts" set

Hi, I have set the 'Whitelist: Add rel="nofollow" to all links except the listed hosts' option, and I want all external links to have "nofollow", yet when I do a relative link such as /path/to/site, it marks it as external. Can the module recognise all non-http links as internal and thus not show "nofollow"? Maybe its already done but couldn't find any help/documentation/previous issues
