Have you enabled faq categories on admin/settings/faq/categories? If so:
* Have you created a vocabulary for your faq categories and added terms to it?
* Have you associated this vocabulary with your faq content type?
* On admin/settings/faq/categories, under advanced settings, is your vocab selected in the list of vocabs to "omit"/exclude? If so, uncheck it.

Stella

I have the same problem and you pointed out the cause:
On admin/settings/faq/categories, under advanced settings, my vocab is selected in the "omit vocabulary" list.
Problem: it's a select list and something has to be selected. If there is only one vocab in the list it has to be selected...I solved the problem by creating a vocabulary I won't use and selecting it instead of the one I use. It works, my questions appear again but it's a bug. Selecting a vocabulary in the "omit vocabulary" list shouldn't be mandatory, I think.
By the way, I'm using 6.x-1.8, just in case you're wondering.
Thanks for your very useful module,
Thierry

In the dev version, there are now checkboxes instead of a select, so it shouldn't be an issue going forward.
