Best way to accept donations

I am investigation the best way to accept donations and would appreciate some suggestions.
What i am looking for is the ability to set up different funds that users can donate to. For instance, lets say i am running a Zoo Union. I would like to be able to set up a goal of Zoo A needs a new cage, Zoo B needs a new lion. And then users can donate to a zoo.....be really nice if a themometer kept track of how close to the goal they are.
Seems donations for Drupal 6 can either be structured with Ubercart or with Civicrm. Which is better. Seems some modules are still in dev mode. Any recommenations would be appreciated.

Some options

I'm not aware of any completely-finished donation modules for D6 yet, but here are your 2 options:

1. Donation module plus Simple Paypal Framework module plus Donations Thermometer module (you'll have to click on "View All Releases" for Donations Thermometer).

2. lm_paypal module.

Not sure which of these 2 methods is better - don't know much about them.
