I set a custom error page for 404, with JavaScript code that redirects to the front page after a delay.
I noticed in Google Analytics this URL /404.html?page=/IgnoreThis404ItsOK.htm&from=http://faiththedog.info/ appeared almost 10,000 times, over 1/3 of total page views.
Site is http://faiththedog.info/ - when I try to view the full URL, I get 'requested page not found"

decibel.places commenteda little more background:
a decision was made to create a new Official web site for Faith the Dog - the former web developer was invited to contribute but resisted and refused to cooperate, would not even give up the former domain name - while I had admin access I added redirect to the old site but he locked the admin and removed the redirects, so we registered a new domain name
I heard that the old site got 30K hits too, so I suspect this odd URL could be related to something on the old site, and remnants of the redirects functioning strangely

kbahey commentedI cannot see how this is related to customerror's code in any way.
decibel.places commentedI did not say it is related to the code, I said it is a "miscellaneous" support request
I'm not sure it has to do with the Custom Error module, but even if it does not, it seems to be related as a 404 issue
Comment #4
kbahey commentedAs far as I can tell, the module is behaving as desgined. There is nothing to fix here.
decibel.places commentedI'm not reporting anything broken or asking it to be fixed
since the issue is about a 404 error, I am asking for "miscellaneous support"
I am unable to determine where the URL in question is coming from, but I started here on this issue queue to see if anybody has seen this sort of error before, and to see if it is at all related to the customerror module (which it probably is not)
I did not post a general forum topic because it is pretty specific to 404 error; I suppose I could have posted to the Google Analytics issues (or the GA forum on Google) but I thought I might get more specific responses here, where users are more likely to be examining their 404 errors and might have seen a similar one.

decibel.places commentedthese URLs are caused by debugging code inserted by the Gigya Socialize module
