Steps to Create a Gallery

Goto: Create content > Gallery
system path node/add/node-gallery-gallery

  1. Give the gallery a name.
  2. Set Menu if enabled(Drupal core module), and the gallery is to show on a menu.
  3. Click open >Menu settings
    • Give the menu link a Title. (menu name or label, also used as the mouse over hint or text).
    • Choose the menu where it is to show.(Navigation or Primary are the typical choices).
    • Give the menu link a weight. (Big weights or numbers sink to the bottom in vertical menus).
    (Big weights or numbers float to the right on horizontal menus).
    • Edit menu weights and mouse over text by going to Administer > Site building > Menus > List
  4. Add a description for this gallery as desired.
  5. Node Gallery Access Setting if enabled (node_gallery_access add-on module).
  6. • Public will allow everyone to view.
    • Private will allow just the user when logged in to view.
    • Password will require a password for viewing (enter password after choosing the radio button).
  7. Gallery Display Setting if enabled (node_gallery_display add-on module).
  8. • Default Gallery. Thumbnails that open a photo gallery with Prev|Next navigation links.
    • AD Gallery. Photo display with thumbnails below. Prev|Next navigation, slideshow and slideshow transition selector.
    • Easy Slider Gallery. Single photo display with Prev|Next navigation links.
    • Galleriffic Photo Gallery. Photo display with thumbnails at the top. Prev|Next navigation and slideshow function.
  9. Set Path if enabled(Drupal core module), and not using Pathauto.
    Click open >URL path settings and enter the desired path.

  10. Set Comment settings if enabled (Drupal core module).
    Choose disabled, read only or read/write (permissions may need to be set for comments).
  11. Set Publishing options. (standard Drupal settings).
    Standard options are Published, Promoted to front page, Sticky at top of lists.
  12. Click (Save), saves the settings and loads the next screen.
  13. Click > Upload Some! (or) > Upload images (opens the page with the browse forms or buttons).
  14. After browsing and choosing images, click (Submit Images).
  15. When images are done uploading, the cover images will display in the left column.
  16. Choose a cover image using a (radio button) on the right.
  17. Choose a different gallery for each photo if needed using the (select box).
  18. Change title and add a caption if needed.
  19. Use the drag handles to sort the order of images.
  20. Click (Submit) when ready to load images into the gallery.
  21. A progress bar will perform while loading the images into the gallery (updating the database).
  22. You will then be able to View, Manage, Sort, Upload and Edit the new gallery using the control tabs above the gallery.

Edit a Gallery

Log in and navigate to the gallery.
Control Tabs will be Above the Gallery:
View - Manage images - Sort Images - Upload images - Edit

  • Click the Manage images tab to rename, add captions, delete images, move an image to a different gallery or change cover image.
  • Click the Sort Images tab to arrange images in the entire gallery.
    The sort page will show all images on one page. This page allows deleting an image and setting the cover image.
  • Click the Upload images tab to add more images.
  • Click the Edit tab to change the Title, Gallery description or delete the gallery.
