I'm able to upload images in FF using FCK and Image Browser, and it seemed to show all the images at first, but now the images are only showing in blocks on some of the pages and for some users. It shows only the alternate text. Am I missing some configuration or is this module buggy?

Sounds like you might be experiencing the same issue I had here: #597080: Issue with page compression on Pressflow and image serving

If I supply a patch could you test it in your case?

Well i've fixed the above, if the latest dev to get released tonight doesn't help come back to me.
