I am somewhat confused with Drupal is it possible to use the embedded video players from Google and YouTube? I have tried adding the tags so they are allowed, but I still can not get them to show up in my site. I am currently just testing with Drupal. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

You have to allow the embed code, at least for Google Video. I'd do so only to an input format that isn't allowed to anonymous users.

At least Google does work. Under Input Format check Full HTML.

I got them both working. Thanks for the info!

There must be a way to generate the embed html code from info entered into input text boxes at the blog post node for example. does anyone have a starting point to offer?

Is there a chance of being a Youtube-Module in the future? E.g. some kind of node where you can write a few lines and an embedded player which plays a given video. Of course with a "Powered by Youtube" button.

Or is this technologically impossible?

I was wondering the same thing and found the video module.

right..... our video module (cvs version for drupal 4.7) supports Youtube.
Google video Support has been added recently and is available
as patch. Will be included in video module after some documentation work.

now youtube and google video are part of the video module (we aree still in cvs version, but releasing a 4.7 version soon)

Please note that the code generated by video module is XHTML compliant, while google or youtube not.

I have used GoogTube module to embed Youtube and Google videos using only the videos URl. It's a great module. It is still in the development stage, though.

How to find the videos URl? I use some sites before, but all have been disabled now.

he means URL ... the address in the address bar.

if you are looking at a vid at youtube, copy the web address (www.youtube.com/goofjfuwhatever

paste it into your node in drupal...right in the body, submit and voila. ... provided you have enabled the youtube as like -7 in the text filtering for authenticated users, or ellow them to use full html when posting.
