Hey all
I'm doing a site up for a local writer that has the majority of his content that he wants to display typed up on Open Office files. He wants to know how well it will transfer over to the site's WYISIWIG editor (which is currently using the YUI from yahoo) and since I dont' know the answer, Thought I'd ask folks that might. Can they just cut and paste and it'll keep all the formatting in place, or is it going to be a huge hassle?

re: pasting formatted text into WYSIWYG editor
Since Open Office will open and format MS Word docs, this should work.
Add the WYSIWYG module and TinyMCE text editor to your test site. Allow your Admin role to use the Input Format for Full HTML; and include the TinyMCE editor button options for Paste-Text and Paste-Word.
Try using each one by adding one or two posts of their actual content. This will let you know how much of their specific formatting is retained.
I've used it to copy-paste when people send me MS Word docs or emails. It retained the bullet point lists, headlines, paragraph breaks. Doing a large number of pages might be time consuming.
