logging tarballs status

Description
There is a delay between the auto-generation of the tarball for the release, but there is no way to the maintainer to see what had happened with it.
So, maybe it's a good idea to make a log for the status of that, and an example of this can be the archive.org log for its multimedia "items"(here an example).
I'm not entirely sure, but maybe it can be useful.
