Hundreds of Audio Recordings - Can drupal manage/display them?

mindink - August 19, 2009 - 00:58

Currently I am running Wordpress on my website. I record a lot of audio and have a lot of audio files. Right now over 100 files, but someday I can imagine seeing 1,000.

With Wordpress, I would have to create a Page, and in that page, put links to each and every file. Like this:

Nature Sounds
Recording 1 - Recording 2 - Recording 3 - Recording 4 - etc. etc.

If I install Drupal, is there a better system or module that will catalogue my audio files for me and display them nicely, allow people to search for ones they want?

If Drupal can't do this, is there anything that can?

Thanks!
Paul

OK, I just did a search of the available modules and found Zina. That looks like a decent audio files catalogue module. Would anyone agree?

Oh I'm just ITCHING to get tooling with Drupal!

I usually stay away from 3rd party integration modules. That said however, if you don't use zina you can do this easily enough with drupal plus the swftools and views modules.

Thanks WorldFallz. Can you point me into the direction of swftools and views modules?

You can click on the Download

You can click on the Download tab at the top of every page. From there select Modules. On the right hand side you'll find a handy search box to just search the modules. Put in Views (you'll find a lot of Views-related modules) and swftools.
