Should spell out $username and $password as done elsewhere and seems to be general convention.

We had this before. Did the feature get removed during a re-factor? The patch looks OK to me.

Yes, it is still in DWTC but that was added while the abstract browser was in dev and didn't make it in (although I was aware).
