I start entering a location in this order:

(...)
4. State/Province -- VIC
5. Country -- now I need to change from USA (Default) to Australia

as a consequence, now the correct State/Province is cleared. I have to re-enter it.

If this isn't a bug, but a "feature", please re-think it. Why allow me to enter the correct State/Province before the country selection, if that clears the State/Province again...?

Please check to see if this is still a problem in the new release. If it is, reply with a new summary and set the status back to active.

This is still a problem with 6.x-3.1. Is there a way to list country first? I'm only using State/Province and Country. My user enters the State, selects the country, then has to go back and re-enter the state. Very frustrating. A simple and quick fix for me is to reorder them so country comes first, but I can't find how to reorder it.

You can re-order them using drag and drop or the weight field in the "Collection settings" in the "Locative information" fieldset.

You can find this on the node type edit page for node locations, the user settings page for user locations or in the settings for your field if you are using a CCK location field.
