Modules for magazine site - Epublish, Innovation News, or something else?

I'm working on a site for an online magazine, in which content needs to be able to be grouped into issues or editions. I've found two modules thus far that are designed for that, E-publish and Innovation News, and I'm not sure which would be a better choice.

Or maybe it 's better to just handle the editions via a taxonomy vocabulary or something?

The idea is that by default the site would show only the content for the current issue, on the front page and in the view for each section, but there might be links to past editions (have to check on that).

If anyone has any recommendations based on their experience with sites like this, please let me know. Thanks!
