How do we become `Drupal Malaysia' // C.R.E.A.M.S of the crop

XOOPS has its own official community and service provider in Malaysia.

http://www.xoopsmalaysia.org/

Since we are web builders who have used Drupal for many clients, and seeing how Xoops has its own official national rep for fellow countrymen, we might consider to apply for `Drupal Malaysia'.

Maybe

The commercial gain is not a big priority for us. Our main objectives are to help building better websites and we even have our own acronyms that we think about Drupal.

Dries is on holiday (getting married and not checking Drupal.org) for a few weeks. The license is GPL for the code and Creative Commons for the handbook. I personally do not know how the international affiliation sites are handled. You might ask on the Infrastructure list if someone who does know doesn't see this thread.

Not to be snide, but "creams" has some lewd implications in American English.

Maybe not the best acronym.

That's ok, Malaysians speak

Muslim guy - March 24, 2006 - 03:48

That's ok, Malaysians speak British English (or Queen's).

Even then, many British slangs are not known among non-English (I mean native English)

Pretty much summing up what Drupal is capable of -

- Creative content
- Comics!

- Education

- E-Commerce!

- Magazine

- Management

So clients eother it is a non-profit organization, or a business company wanting a website, we no longer (or reluctant) to do them HTML sites, the static type where a single error has to be edited by webmasters.

Mention CMS and most of our clients have no idea. The more creative way of describing Drupal to clients is to present its
capabilities from their point of view and they will see that it helps to fulfill their needs, either an online magazine, ecommerce,
or organizational and corporate sites.

Thankx Sepeck.

Anybody else have ideas what Drupal can do?

****Drupal is a lot more exciting than Joomla/Mambo/Xoops/PHP-Nuke
and we highly recommend clients and newbies to try Drupal first before giving up

The only setback for a newbie is that:

The default PUSHBUTTON theme is tricky to modify. Why is that the default logo is tiny, and the primary links are placed almost at the middle. For this, you have to edit the xtemplate.xtmpl which is not really fun.

Suggestion:
Default theme - pushbutton - modified to enable the user logo or banner to be placed top/centered

Second theme - suitable for `corporate or business' look
