Last release: Oct, 2008. Dev version from Dec, 2008 never made to a release.

Please clarify what is the status of this module and the reason why dev version of 1.x has been left without release?

Please use version 0.7
That is the current release and it should deliver what it promises (basic podcast using the CCK FileField).

1.x-dev is just numbered that way because of the Drupal CVS quickstart. :-)

There have been no feature adds or bug-fixes in a while, but the 0.7 version should still work for you.
