gábor hojtsyYes, but first it needs dedication from the team behind http://l10n.drupalitalia.org/ to migrate their data to localize.drupal.org.
gábor hojtsyAny feedback?
avpadernoI tried to contact the team behind i10n.drupalitalia.org, but I have not found any email, or an issue queue where to ask about the migration on l.d.o. It seems I have less problems in English, than in my first language.
I guess that this feature request should be marked as .
gábor hojtsyWell, they might turn out anytime. Better to have people come here and see what was done instead of closing it in a hurry.
avpadernoAt the end, I created a forum post, and asked the question. I am not sure if it will get an answer, but let us see.
psicomante commentedI think Drupal Italia has a lot of ways to contact the team. forum, contact forms and mail. A menu item says "Contact Us"; i think it should be quitely straightforward :D.
Anyway we are talking about the migration on l.d.o but we would appreciate some features we have implemented like automatic packages export.

uccio commentedKiamLaLuno,
In home page you can see 'Team' (http://www.drupalitalia.org/node/2185) a simple page of all maintainer/admin of the project but please use:
http://www.drupalitalia.org/contact
to contact us.
avpadernoAs I said, I am too used to Drupal.org. I was looking for an issue queue, but I didn't find any; the forum, in Drupal.org, is not used to contact the site maintainers (and the email is not normally used too).
I will remember to use the link reported the next time. :-)
gábor hojtsy@Psicomante: those features you look for will not materialize from thin air :) As you can see on #561662: Add German language to l.d.o for example, the German translation group is working on helping us add and deploy features they'd like to see on the server to be able to move. Contributions are welcome.
psicomante commented@Gàbor i haven't wanted to be opinionated. I sent you the module i've developed, but unfortunately in this days i'm really busy :(:(
Comment #11
gábor hojtsyPosting in the issue queue might help other less busy people to work on it :)
avpaderno@Gábor: May we close this feature request? I opened this request because I didn't know that a request to add a language should be made from the maintainers of the currently used translation server. It seems that the actual maintainers of the Italian translation misunderstood the reason I opened this request (and they are wondering why I am suddenly interested in translating Drupal in Italian, forgetting that the translation server is used also for third-party modules).
I apologize if I opened this feature request without to have any rights; it was not my intention to offend anybody, nor to do any task instead of somebody else.
gábor hojtsy@KiamLaLuno: I think you've already stated your best intentions, so closing this would only get more people submit similar issues. We've seen "random people" from other language communities submit issues just to get redirected to the first one. We have representatives of the Italian server on this issue already, so it would probably be easier to track instead of letting new issues be opened.
Also I'd believe that the mid-term advantages of the central translation server outweigh not being able to translate third-party modules, but we are purposefully designing the Drupal client module and server infrastructure to support translation servers per module (based on how update status module does the same), so we keep in mind that Drupal sites are not composed merely of drupal.org hosted modules.
gábor hojtsyLooks like you'd like to see some features added before migrating. Marking postponed, like the German team (#561662: Add German language to l.d.o). When you figure it is time to migrate (or if the above statement of waiting for some features is not standing anymore), please reopen this issue.
psicomante commentedok, we're ready for the localization group on l.d.o. I already have an account on l.d.o; who will be the group administrator?
Thank you.
avpadernoI guess the group administrator should be the user more active in the Italian translation project.
psicomante commentedlogical solution, but you know, I wouldn't have liked to elect me as administrator :D
Comment #18
avpadernoThe alternative should be to make group administrator the current maintainer of the Italian translation project, but he is not the most active user in the project, nor he had made commits in recent times; differently, the group administrator could be the most active contributor on i10n.drupalitalia.org.
I still think Psicomante should be made group administrator.
pinoloI am the main reviewer of the Italian core translation. I think the perfect solution would be that Psicomante and I share the admin tasks, because I can handle the "community" part, while Psicomante has a better understanding of how l10n and l.d.o work.
if a split admin is not feasible, I agree to take the admin role. Psicomante, are you ok, with that?
psicomante commentedThe admin will grant the other of admin permissions, i guess. There's no problem who will be the "first" admin.
Anonymous (not verified) commentedThe only difference is that the group administrator is able to assign permissions to other users.
pinoloOK, can we proceed?
Anonymous (not verified) commentedComment #24
psicomante commentedOk, Pinolo for admin.
pinoloWhat's the next step? Is anyone going to send us notice when the Italian language team/group is ready on l.d.o?
avpadernoYou will know it because Gabor marks this feature report as fixed when the Italian translation group will be created.
gábor hojtsyIs there an agreement here, but just nobody bold enough to mark it ready to be committed? I'm personally not confident by just reading the comments here that there is actually an agreement made.
avpadernoIf Psicomante agrees on making Pinolo administrator, that is fine with me too.
psicomante commentedI've already said some comments ago, i agree with the creation of Italian Translation Group on Localize.drupal.org. Pinolo for admin and myself, or only Pinolo.
psicomante commentedbtw we agree to move from our local translation server (l10n.drupalitalia.org) to the centralized one sited on localize.drupal.org.
gábor hojtsyGreat, I've created the team at http://localize.drupal.org/languages/it and made @Pinolo the initial owner / admin. He can add any number of other admins and manage group level permissions of people.
Please expect that there might be bumps in the service. You are among the beta-tester of this live instance. Thanks for helping out and please report issues as you find them! Your team members can now join and help import existing translations and work on more translations.
Anybody can sign up for being a member of the team and they will be able to submit suggestions right away. The initial admin can change permissions of people signing up, widening their capabilities. See http://localize.drupal.org/node/616 for explanation on how. It is highly suggested to grant both moderation permissions to those who you also designate admins.
Welcome on board!
gábor hojtsyComment #33
gábor hojtsyAlso removed the standalone Italian server listing from the l10n_server project page.
psicomante commentedThank you for all!
pinoloThanks, Gabor! We've started doing some work during the weekend and everything looks fine so far.
