How do you get custom user/author fields as tokens?

I'm looking to find out how to get custom user/author fields as tokens to use in Automatic Node Titles and PathAuto in Drupal 6.13.

I'm interested in both doing it with user object custom fields, as well as the user related content-profile as a node cck fields.

I've been able to make it work fine when I'm just using CCK fields that exist on the node I'm creating, but what I would prefer is to use the custom user object fields which I assume start with "author" or "user" and use them as tokens in the same way, to name and path the node automatically.
