Thanks very much for the Views module. It is awesome.
I hope it is correct for me to open this as an issue, realizing you are all very busy.

I am not sure if this requires a new feature request or if there is a way to do this through a setting.

I would like to not have the "new" and "updated" flags show to the author or editor of a post when they view lists afterwards that include the posts they created or updated because then the author/editor must re-read or view their own posts just to clear the flags.

Any help on how to do this would be much appreciated.

This problem appears to be gone today. I am not sure why. I am using the Views 6.x-2.x-dev version from Aug 22 and maybe this is the reason. I will watch the problem and see if it recurs.

I have a better understanding of the Drupal behaviour I was trying to comment on and realize now it is not a Views issue but rather a feature request for Drupal core. I seem to be unable to move this to the appropriate queue so I have closed this issue and may have to post it as a new issue in the proper queue.

For anyone interested in what I was trying to say, what I have noticed is that when a node is viewed and then the user clicks on edit, after updating the node the user is returned to the node view and the "updated" flag is cleared, so it does not appear on the tracker views or elsewhere.

However, if the user starts from a listing of nodes, such as Content or VBO and has an edit link available from that list, after the user edits the node they return to the list so the updated flag is not cleared until the user specifically views the node.

Thus, anytime a user creates a node or edits a node, if after save they are not returned to the node view the new and updated flags will be set and appear on tracker views and elsewhere. I think it would be more intuitive if Drupal could update the author's record of when the node was viewed when it is saved so that the new and updated flags do not show on tracker lists and elsewhere to the author.
