no message telling the user to check his/her e-mail after he/she registered . This is frustrating as the new user has no way of knowing what just happened until they happen to check their e-mail.

It happens on the web server but not on my localhost.

I don't have uid=0 removed.

Help please!

I have the same problem, and i didn't delete the UID=0 either, someone please help me out! the solution here http://drupal.org/node/160627 seems simple, but i dont know to do it, add the code to theme ?

Maybe you can get support from the local user group. Please take a look at this list at groups.drupal.org.

You could try rules for custom messages.
