As discussed with bojhan, catch, sun and webchick yesterday in IRC, a category to hold search and seo related admin items.
Not very populated with core only, but some very popular contribs would be well off here:
Search and metadata
* Clean URLs
* Search settings
(Contrib candidates: External search, like Solr, and SEO stuff like Pathauto, nodewords, XML Sitemap..)

catchI think this makes sense as a category - internal and external search can be quite closely linked (say if you use google site search instead of core), and we have a lot of contrib module dealing with both internal and external search indexers. Even if we were to get a bit fed up with the SEO side, we definitely need admin/config/search - since whether you run core or apache solr or xapian or whatever there's likely to be something belonging here.

Bojhan CreditAttribution: Bojhan commentedSo we have taken a long time to come up with this category. But I feel it can embrace a lot of diffrent modules. Search obviously is something you would want to setup for your site. But metadata is almost as important, as you try to create a clean looking url. Therefor modules such as Pathauto could also be placed in this category.
Ofcourse we would still have to usability test, whether the individual label makes sense - but I feel it has value.

Gábor HojtsyIf we have pathauto and clean URLs here, why not URL aliases? Giving manual URL aliases is as SEO-like as automated ones.
Comment #4
Gábor HojtsyTo get this rolling while the debate on URL aliases rolls on/starts :)

catchYesterday opinion was split on whether URL aliases belong here, or in 'structure', if they're anywhere in config and modules it'd be this category though, but we should probably have that discussion in it's own, very special, issue.

webchickThanks, committed to HEAD.
This change needs to be documented in the upgrade guide.
Comment #9
webchickAnd yes, let's discuss URL aliases in another issue. We could re-open #506124: Moving URL Aliases out of Site configuration perhaps?
