Is there a reason that Acquia Marina's .info file does not have local.css commented out? It produces many errors in dblog saying page not found because of this.

I understand I can change this but I would like to keep the code in SVN.

YW, Then you just have to upgrade to version 2, @jwolf included almost all of my patches into version 2 and also many more improvments so there is no need to stay with version 1
