would it be possible to add a background image to the search text area as well?
I don't know how difficult this is, but I think it would make it just a perfect addition to any drupal site.

I don't know if that is possible. I'll have to look into it. Unfortunately I do not have a ton of time right now. Also, that has to do with javascript and I'm not great with it. I will see what I can do though.
