This is probably very obvious, but after I've created a couple of new publication types I would like to change their descriptions. How to do that?

Actually, it's not obvious because it's currently not possible (short of manually editing the database). There is currently no GUI to edit the information associated with a publication type. I'll try to rectify this in an upcoming release.
