calebm12 - August 26, 2009 - 01:14

this is my first drupal site and hence my first transfer from a localhost (WAMP) to live server (hostgator). I was hoing someone could give me some step by step directions on how to do this. not sure the best way to get the mysql db (phpmyadmin or mysqldump) and how to get this and all of my drupal files one hostgator. any suggestion, links, etc would be GREATLY appreciated.

also i am attempting to put it on to the live server with the secure site module...just so i can restric access for a week of testing.

Hi there,

To be honest I've never done that. I've always worked on the live site and I've never had a problem (although during the early days it no doubt looked like a total mess, but I didn't have any visitors anyway so it didn't matter). I should really figure out how to do it sometime however by viewing this again:

Invaluable site by the way. Lots to learn.

working on the local host is really easy if you follow that video. watched the transfer video too....but have decided i am not a fan of hostgator's cpanel. plus the way they have their domains configured is a bit more confusing.
