Hi there

I downloaded restrict content module and enabled it.

When I create new node now I expect to see an option to allow or disallow to the different roles but this is not showing up. Can anyone tell me why or how this module works.
Basically I want to be able to seperate content from diffferent roles.

Please Help!!

Worse, it was last updated in May. So I am not even sure if this module is working as advertised in the first place. I think posting a support request in the issue queue might be your best chance of getting a meanigfull response given the relativly small amount of users of this module. Perhaps some good soul can help you.
Given the non existence of maintanance I wouldn't built on this module at the moment.

I never had to dive into this subject and therefore cannot give recommendations. You might want to check out this page http://groups.drupal.org/node/16637 as a starting point for further investigations.

But like you I expected to see checkboxes for different roles and see nothing, time to pop the author an email and get him involved.

I'm trying to do the same thing, restrict a forum to only premium users.

Did you enable it under the specific content type settings?

That was fast! I did that now when I go to any content I see the "Restrict viewing:
Check each user type you wish to allow to view this content. If no items are checked all users will be able to view." but nothing else, no checkboxes, no list of roles etc.

Thanks guys.

I can see the checkboxes now and when I set up my permissions correctly it is working.

Also anyone know anything about user badges as this doesent appear to be working correctly either - wrong badges representing roles with two images showing sometimes.

Any Thoughts??

how did you solve the problem with not seeing any check boxes, lists etc? i tried the permission settings but it still doesn't show.

i have the role "writer" and in permissions restricted_content module is checked for "writer". i still don't see any check boxes.

any ideas?

I am also having trouble configuring the permissions for the Restrict Content module. I see that the "Restrict viewing" has appeared on my content type, but there are no roles or check boxes to select. ... I have also cleared the site cache and tried every permission configuration possible for my 2 user roles.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

In the meantime, I'm going to try the "Node Access" module.
It appears to be similar to the Restrict Content module.

Has anyone been able to created a "Restricted content" message with a link to login that dynamically redirects the user to the destination node that that they are trying to access?

Right now, I've only figured out how to redirect to a specific node in all cases by the addition of "destination=node/467" to the query string.
