Why the number of news items starts from 2? I need to show only one news item in block.

Apply this patch to the source code and then you'll be able to do this.

THX, already did so...
The patch u provided is not complete, line 195 also needs to be changed.
but I think there is no reason for this not to be in default download, or is there?
