Theme change

I am using Garland for admin theme and custom theme for main site. Is there an easy way for a non-developer to use the main site's theme when "Ask Question" is used? Could the instructions be included in the documentation? I'm confused by the instructions at http://drupal.org/node/324004 but trying. Have never created modules and I don't "know" php. Any simple solutions? Creating a page_faq tpl.php file didn't work. Durn. Sorry that my ignorance causes you extra work/time! Back to trying....
