I am using the money field to store the tuition of classes and have only USD currency enable. It would be great if the input widget just have the value field only and [USD] display as static text or even have the option to not even show the currency.

Maybe you could use a Formatted Number field instead?

I was in doubt, but yes, this is won't fix here. Please use the above mentioned field. It's the same as money, but without currency, and you can setup suffix and prefix if you need to.
