"Form Loading" displaying and won't go any further after selecting "Become Friend"

I am a novice Drupal 6 user and I just downloaded UR today for my development site. I left the default settings under User Management > Relationships > Settings, and I set permissions to the various roles to allow users to request one another etc. Now, when I log in as User1, then navigate to the profile page for User2 and click "Become User2's Friend", I get the "Form Loading" popup displayed, but nothing further comes up. Is there a permission that needs to be set that I missed?
