"smart urls" like drupal.org

i installed drupal and am loving it (after you figure out how the hell everything works)

after you look for a second you realize everything is a node and is a very very nice design.

however beyond that, i was wondering how i could get the url to look like those of drupal.org, mine all show site.net/?q=/wherever/to/go

oh, and is there anyway i could get the theme drupal.org is using on 4.3.0 ?

This is called clean urls and is in the system config page. You need mod_rewrite.

The theme is xtemplate and comes with Drupal.

Try MVC methode in CI.
